Looking for a rustic home almost as old as our country for your event? The Governor Owsley Home is the perfect
venue. This 200 plus year old home located in beautiful central Kentucky has been restored by the Lancaster
Historical Society and updated with a few modern features for your convenience.

Pleasant Retreat (begun ca 1804) is the restored and furnished home of Kentucky's 16th governor, William
Owsley. Original single story kitchens, with low ceilings and enormous fireplaces, are connected to the main house.
The enclosed breezeway contains an updated bathroom with soaking tub and warming kitchen.

The Federal portion of the house greets you with a spacious entry and reception room. The dining room and parlor
are perfect for entertaining. The spacious two story stairway leads to a Groom's Suite on the right complete with a
sleeping porch. The suite to the left is comprised of three rooms and a private staircase. Complete with a large
room for the Bride, a room for the Bridal Party, and a room for other important members of the family to prepare for
the wedding.

Wallpaper painted in Paris, France in 1818 gives the spacious conference room a look of elegance. Picture ops
abound with five porches, original brick,sprawling lawns, ancient trees, a rustic carriage house with stairs and a
porch, and beautiful views stretching to Tennessee. The house was added to the U.S. National Register of Historic

Located South of Lexington in Garrard County, Lancaster is known for being the site of the Kennedy House, said
to have been used in Uncle Tom's Cabin. Lancaster serves as the county seat of Garrard County and sits in the
Bluegrass Region of Kentucky at the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains. The Lancaster Square is a hub of
activity at the intersection of Highways 27 and 52. Lancaster has a rich history in, Kentucky History. Centrally
located near Lexington, Nicholasville, Richmond, Berea, Stanford, Harrodsburg, and Danville.

Bradford BBQ Smoke House will be located on the property in the carriage barn. Currently located in Lexington
we serve Kentucky proud smoked meats and home cooked comfort sides paired with local craft beers. Catering is
our specialty and the state of the art food truck will be available for events. A list of preferred caterers will be
provided for the event venue and catering your own event is also an option. We love Garrard County, the good
people who live here, and the beautiful views we are blessed to experience every day.
